Children and families living in the Toronto neighborhoods face significant challenges. For example, the percentage of neighborhood children living in poverty and the rates of youth violence and juvenile incarceration are among the highest in Ontario. In addition, many neighborhood youth encounter major academic challenges throughout ages 6-18, barriers to graduating from high school, and lack of access to programs.

The initiative for youth excellence service will significantly transform Toronto neighborhoods and become a national model of youth community civic engagement.
Mission
Our mission is to improve the physical and academic achievements of low-income children and youth living in the Toronto neighborhoods, while strengthening the education and skills development of (IFYES) students and expanding professional development opportunities.
Goal #1
creates a pipeline of supportfor low-income children and youth living in Toronto neighborhoods in order to increase learning at all levels. Prevent them from making bad choices by providing them with an opportunity to join soccer teams and raise their self -esteem, their leadership by providing training of interpersonal and communication skills.
Goal #2
Enhance Initiative for youth excellence service Mission by supporting program participant.Enhance Initiative for youth excellence service programs in order to further animate the clubs mission of “educating the whole person ,to professional formation, and to empowering leaders for a just and humane world “.
Strategy #1
: Academic Support. With a particular emphasis on the transition points in children and youth educational experiences Initiative for youth excellence service will form and or expand upon partnership with the public schools and the community organizations with in the Toronto neighborhoods in order to create a seamless network of academic support for neighborhood children.
Strategy #2
: Wraparound Services for Families. Initiative for youth excellence will strengthen existing partnerships and create new partnerships with community organizations to support youth and their families with a range of services in order to enhance student success, assist families in meeting their basic needs, and provide continued family involvement in the learning process.
Strategy #3
: Engage program participant. Develop a well-organized, inclusive and effective structure for engaging staff, students and alumni in a process of pursuing the Initiative’s ambitious community goals, outcomes and indicators while enhancing learning opportunities for outcomes and indicators while learning opportunities for Initiative for youth excellence service children and youth.
Implementation phase this will include planning a major initial with the focus on 6-16 aged programs and partnerships. The club and community partners will also begin a process to expand and strengthen a pipeline of support for neighborhood children and young people .This effort will increase the likelihood of the Initiative’s long-term success, immediately support an additional group of neighborhood youth, and also provide further opportunities for the Initiative for youth excellence service to engage in the initiative.
The first phase of implementing the youth will involve a combination of developing new structures and systems while simultaneously significantly expanding the clubs engagement in the Toronto neighborhoods. The following section explores specific outcomes, indicators of success and specific activities. When possible, club and community partners are noted in examples of specific activities .The roster is only partial list of partners and activities and will continue to grow as additional partners and activities are confirmed.
